TAG Talk Number 5 The Problem and Traditions of Modernity

Professor Robert Adam presents his talk: The problem and Traditions of Modernity.

Modernity is a key concept in society and architecture today but it is often misunderstood and misused. A better understanding of its various meanings will put traditional architecture into its proper place in society today. As the concept of modernity has been widely adopted in some fields of architecture for nearly a century, it has developed its own traditions. By putting one tradition in relation to another, we can see what place they have in society.
