Russell Taylor is a renowned exponent of design in the Classical tradition. His work encompasses private houses, public buildings and ecclesiastical architecture. He is the principal of Russell Taylor Architects, a practise he started in 2005, based in Cornwall and London.
The ethos of the practice is to design beautiful, timeless buildings: sustainable, practical, and cost-effective architecture. A particular strength is the use of predominantly natural locally sourced materials and traditional methods of construction; designing down to the smallest detail: doors, windows, cabinetry and occasionally light fittings. furniture and carpets.
Notable projects include Crosby Hall, Chelsea; The Jerwood Centre for the Royal Society of Physicians; The September 11th Memorial in Grosvenor Square; The Narthex (visitor centre) for Norwich RC Cathedral; The Royal Society of Musicians in Fitzroy Square; plus, individual houses.
