ABOUT
Stuart Martin Architects is based in Dorset. We cover a wide range of work, including historic buildings and conservation, but our main focus is on new traditional buildings and how these can be designed to adapt to our changing world. We are deeply interested in the traditional classical world of reality and imagination, and its role in forming the future.
We try to make carefully crafted buildings made of natural materials, embodying a love of beauty and the natural world that is our home. The traditional forms of building are more relevant than ever. All the pre-industrial methods of construction - whether with stone, clay, lime or plants - have something to teach us as we begin the task of re-learning how to live within limits.
