Mark Wilson Jones appointed Visiting Professor at Cambridge

We are delighted to announce that Mark Wilson Jones, Chairman of the Traditional Architecture Group, has been appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge at the Ax:son Johnson Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture.

Mark, both an accomplished architect and a renowned architectural historian, is celebrated for his research that bridges architecture, archaeology, and art history. His work has left an indelible mark on our understanding of classical design, particularly through his study of Greek and Roman antiquity. Mark’s architectural practice, Apollodorus Architecture, founded in 2017, continues to evolve unique projects informed by classical design principles.

In his new role at Cambridge, Mark will focus on how classical precedents inspire creativity in modern architecture, drawing on the ancient practice of evolving variations on traditional themes. We look forward to seeing how his contributions will enrich the Faculty of Architecture and foster collaborative research within the Centre.

This appointment reflects Mark's ongoing commitment to the deep connection between historical principles and contemporary practice, and we are excited to see how his work continues to shape the future of traditional architecture.
