Winner of the TAG/ Georgian Group Measured Drawing Competition Announced

Winner: Conor Lynch

Winner: Conor Lynch

In celebration of 80 years of the Georgian Group, TAG supported a Measured Drawing Competition open to architects and artists under 40. This was judged by some of our very own TAG members including Hugh Petter who said:

‘Measured drawing is the traditional way in which architects learn from their forebears through close observation and recording of architectural form, proportion, materials and detail.

‘Until relatively recently, measured drawing formed part of every architect’s training, but today it is less commonly taught. This prize is an opportunity for students and young architects to develop their analytical and presentational measured drawings skills through the careful study of a Georgian building.’

The worthy winner was Conor Lynch, a student at Dublin School of Architecture with his elevation of Russborough House.

Second Prize went to Robert Cox of Adam Architecture for his drawing of 'Old' School at Winchester College.  Highly Commended was a drawing of the elevation of Ralph Allen’s Townhouse by Michael Paul Lewis, an architectural assistant at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.
